Keeping your health in check

Clever Care NOW was pleased to offer health checks to patrons at Club Central Menai recently as well as the Georges River Council Love Your Life! Seniors Festival launch at Hurstville.

Our qualified nurses offer on-site blood pressure and blood sugar checks. Results from the health checks are provided to patrons to follow up with their health care provider if needed.

There has been an unusually high number of people struck by the flu this summer. In fact, NSW Health reported 2,196 confirmed cases – almost three times the average for this time of year.

Influenza causes 18,000 hospitalisations and 300,000 GP consultations in Australia each year. Research shows that people vaccinated against Influenza take 43% less sick leave compared to people that don’t*.

Towards the end of last year, we surveyed our clients to understand what is working well in our organisation and what improvements we should make. As a result, we have incorporated some enhancements to some of our communications and processes.

NOW receives grant for new bus

Nurses On Wheels has been presented with $50,000 from Bayside Council via the State Government’s Stronger Community Fund Grants. Over $500,000 was awarded to 15 local community groups at a function on Thursday, 22 February.

On Wednesday 10 October 2018, Mark Speakman SC MP, NSW Attorney General officially opened our new Caringbah office and launched Clever Care NOW (formerly Nurses On Wheels).
