Workplace skin checks can help prevent, check and detect skin cancer!

• Australia has the highest rates of skin cancer in the world
• Every year in Australia skin cancers account for around 80% of all newly diagnosed cancers, and
• Around 2,000 people die from this disease every year however the good news is that it may be preventable with regular skin checks

More than 95% of skin cancers are caused by unprotected exposure to UV radiation from the sun. Meaning it is preventable.

Can you believe it has been 40 years since the Slip, Slop, Slap campaign! The Cancer Council now encourages us to also ‘seek’ shade, and ‘slide’ on some sunglasses.

The Cancer Council Australia recommends people become familiar with their skin and to consult a doctor if there are any noticeable changes.

Many businesses invest in workplace wellness programs. Our Clever Care Now workplace wellness programs include skin checks. Everyone should have a skin check but it is especially important for staff working out in the field who are regularly exposed to UV radiation.

Clever Care NOW can arrange an experienced nurse to conduct on-site skin checks at your workplace. Once checked, if further treatment is needed, employees are given a recommendation to take to their own doctor for future management.
