When is a good time to get a skin check?

Workplace Skin Checks - Business Health - Mobile Nursing

Every year in Australia, skin cancers account for around 80% of all newly diagnosed cancers and approximately two in three Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer by the time they are 70*.

Non-melanoma skin cancer is more common in men, with almost double the incidence compared to women.

Excluding non-melanoma skin cancer, melanoma is the third most common cancer in Australians. In 2015, 13, 694 Australians were diagnosed with melanoma.

Unless there is something of specific concern, the best time of year to have a skin check is during Autumn or Winter when the skin has seen less sun.

The Cancer Council Australia recommends people become familiar with their skin and to consult a doctor if there are any noticeable changes.

Many businesses are now investing in workplace wellness programs including skin checks.

Clever Care NOW can arrange an experienced nurse to conduct on-site skin checks at the client’s own office. Once checked, if further treatment is needed, employees are given a recommendation to take to their own doctor for future management.

As businesses start returning to the office, now is the time to book staff skin checks before Spring.
